Wordpress Task Manager v1.3 : permissions are here !

Hi,

This new version is an important step ! I finally add permissions in the plugin.

After the update / installation, you must see a new link « WP Task Manager » under the « Settings » Menu. Click on it !

Option 1

Option 1

The first option, is the date format. I added 3 version and 3 other for ‘English’ date. Please, let me know if you want other format, I will add them immediately in the next small release.

Ok, let’s go for the main part :

Permission board

Permission board

I explain how it’s working : you can choose what is the smallest ranked group of user who can do that action -_-’.

The wordpress rank system is like that :
Visitor > Subscriber > Contributor > Author > Editor > Administrator.
So if you choose Author in the action « Create », that’s mean that only author, editor and administrator can create a task.

The table under the options make a more simpler representation of that :

Visualisation of permission

Please let me know if you encouter bugs. I’m sur there are some hidden in the plugin. And sorry for Wordpress MU users, I tried to install it on my computer, but I didn’t succeed yet. The next major release ( 1.4) will be for you.

Please let me know if you want an other option, and give a five star on the download page :) .

well, i don’t know. I just try to reinstall my plugin on a fresh wordpress blog and it works for me.

Are you an admin ? Do you have access to your database ? if yes, run this query
    SELECT *
    FROM `wp_options`
    WHERE `option_name` LIKE ‘task%’
and give me the result please.

Hi. I’m excited to use this great looking plugin, but I can’t seem to find the Menu.

I’m trying to install it on a Wordpress-MU install. I activated it, but I can’t see the « Task Manager » Menu and I see nothing under settings. I am an admin.

    Is it an MU issue?

    Thanks.

I don’t have time yet to check what append on Wordpress MU.

Hi there Thomas, this is a fantastic plug-in, and very close to what I need.

The only thing I am struggling to understand is that you can assign a task to a user, but that user might not have permission to mark it as done. If you give them the Validate permission, they can mark anyone’s tasks as done, even those not assigned to then.

Is there a way to allow users to only close tasks assigned to them?

Great work though, and keep it up, this is a great feature!

    Hi,

well, you don’t miss anything, this is how it’s work know. I guess it would be better if only administrator can mark anyone task as done, and the other users only their own tasks.
I mark it on my task list or the next release :p

    Thanks for your comment
